This is what makes us Unique! We have created as level a playing field as possible for musicians. Being independents, our artists do not have a lot of money at their disposal, and we feel it is unfair to ask musicians to pay extra in order to get a favorable listing on SonicAwareness.
Doing this would prevent these musicians from achieving the exposure they desire and deserve. Even worse, the site would become cluttered with banners and promotional ads, and SonicAwareness would cease to be a place where talent and ingenuity determine one’s popularity.
We also believe that listeners should not be charged for downloads. Furthermore, they shouldn’t be bombarded with a list of bands they’ve never heard of unless they have the ability to sort through them and easily find something that is appealing.
