Music venues and musicians wanted for global music festival

Music venues and musicians around the world are being invited to take part in a global music festival raising money for children with AIDS.

ONE WORLD BEAT has approximately 100 events in 25 countries on board for the festival, which takes place in March.

Musicians around the world will play, simultaneously, on the weekend of March 19-21 - all to raise money for Keep A Child Alive, a charity which provides medical equipment for children suffering with AIDS and HIV.

Would you like to nominate an event, concert or gig for One World Beat?

It's easy to register an event - just go to the website (www.oneworldbeat.org) and follow the simple registration procedure.

All a venue or artist has to do to register is to nominate a gig they are involved in on the weekend of March 19-21 - OR you can wait until a gig is in place for that weekend, then register it as a One World Beat event.

Please note:

One World Beat is not involved in setting up gigs for artists, or placing artists at venues. We are relying on the venues or artists to nominate events which have already been organised, or are in the process of being organised.

Venues hosting events can donate part or all of the profits from their event to One World Beat. Musicians taking part can donate all or part of their fee.

All donations will go direct to Keep A Child Alive.

All events taking part in the festival will be listed on the One World Beat website (www.oneworldbeat.org) and there is also an individual page for each event, which features full details about that event. You can include venue/artist links etc and can update the page using a password which will be allocated when you register.

In addition, there is a global PR campaign in place which is helping to promote the events.

Among the many venues worldwide hosting One World Beat events is the Shepherds Bush Empire in London, which has staged concerts for some of the world's biggest names in music, such as Elton John, Bob Dylan, Oasis and Stereophonics.

Several events, including concerts in London and Sydney, will be broadcast live on the internet via webcasting.

One World Beat is set to be one of the biggest global charity music extravaganzas since Live Aid.

Australia, Belgium, Burundi, Canada, Croatia, England, France, Germany, Gibraltar, Greece, Japan, Lithuania, Kenya, Netherlands, New Zealand, Nigeria, Poland, Scotland, South Africa, South Korea, Switzerland, Uganda, United Arab Emirates, United States and Wales.
