Years together: 3 years Origin of band/artist: My first group originated approx. in 1985 in Oakland, CA. Now I have Curt Foster on piano, Andy Ziker on drums & Bob Willocks on bass. Philosophy: New Renaissance represents a revival, a new light coming into and brightening a previus dark musical period of electronic music. New Renaissance plays acoustic jazz and some original compositions with a little contemporary flare. New Renaissance was formed with the great jazz masters in mind, reviving the original spirit of those who started this art form. Nazim Rashid & New Renaissance brings the spirit of American Classical music to the forefront. Future plans and goals: To travel and record more great original arrangements on the jazz standards and original compositions as well.
