Origin of band/artist: Born in Worcester, Mass. in 1983, Dave grew up in a family of two parents and five children. It was
around the age of twelve that he realized that he had some strong connection to the music world.
That connection, however, was still yet to be known. Failing at his first venture, the saxophone,
he found that perhaps actually playing a musical instrument was outside of his calling…that is, until
he picked up the guitar. Taking lessons at the local music store, he found that he was strongly influenced
by the sounds of classic rock such as The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, and The Doors. Slowly, traces of
these influences surfaced as his regular practice patterns began to take shape into different “songs”.
After playing quite a bit in his church and with other musicians, Dave began to achieve the “seasoning”
that has molded him into the person he is today, learning from whoever he could. It was at this time
that he realized his one true musical love…jazz. Being frustrated with the strict confines and rules of
musical theory, jazz opened up a world of improvisation, leaving the world as a canvas waiting to be painted.
Philosophy: “Inspiration can be found in things like listening to the rain just as much as it can be found
in any other artist. What’s important is to try to be inspired not by others, but instead to find
what inspires them and be moved by that. I try to keep my music inspirational, leaving behind
some remnant of hope at the end of every composition. This doesn’t always work, mind you,
but it’s my desire, or calling, I guess you could say.”
