Update

Hello everyone. Long time no see. I am afraid I must apologize for last month’s ezine disappearance. A mixture of illness, schedules, conflicts and everything else under the sun all contributed to the first ezine absence since SonicAwareness has been online. For this, I sincerely apologize.

Well, on to more current events. As you’ve probably figured out by now, the ezine has become more of a newsletter, and that’s just fine by me. Moreover, from what I understand from your feedback, it’s fine by you as well. I think this once a month email best serves its purpose as an updater as opposed to a source for other music news. The way I see it, you spend enough time on Sonic either looking for new music or trying to get your music out to the masses. That’s the purpose of SonicAwareness after all. Having said that, I think it’s best to leave the ‘news’ items to the websites that specialize in this field. After all, they do it better than anybody.

The newsletter will continue to show up on a monthly basis near the end of the month. Any new developments on SonicAwareness will show up here.

Getting away from the newsletter, I just want to say how pleased I am to continually see how active our listener base is and how much interest there is out there in Independent Music. I’ve received emails from Indie Film makers, Film students, Web Radio Stations, and so forth…all asking about the musicians on site. I want you to know that when someone expresses an interest in your music I will always contact you and provide contact information to reach these people. It’s important to me that your music gets ‘out there’, and facilitating these types of deals is one of the best ways to accomplish this.

In closing, I’d like to ask for a moment of your time. You may remember that the last six ezines – er, newsletters – have featured a wonderful comic strip about 2 struggling Blues musicians. The strip was called Buddy & Hopkins, and is the creation of Jason Nocera. I’d love to get your opinion of the strip, as I am considering purchasing an additional 6 months worth of comics. All you have to do is click on the link below, and you’ll be taken to a polling station. Enter your opinion, click submit, and you’re done. It’ll take less than 30 seconds!

Have a great summer, continue downloading/uploading, and thanks once again for being a part of SonicAwareness!

Before approaching any webmaster for a link exchange, check and see if you have at least 10-20 quality links pointing to your website. So, a link exchange, could boost search engine rankings for both parties, and improve page rank. This is why a webmaster will not approve a link exchange request, until you have at least 10-20 inbound links and a few good posts or articles.
